MINUTES OF THE OAKLAKE ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
May 8, 2009
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. All board members except Stefani were present.
Guests: No list was furnished
There were no minutes from last meeting to read, as Stefani was absent.
No financials were read, as Stefani was absent.
Security
John to check with GCS about reinstall of common area cameras. Did they receive the deposit check for the work?
Alec asked Dick about progress with common area lighting project. Dick mentioned that they were still discussing scheduling.
Alec discussed ways to improve neighborhood watch, after Natalie’s car was vandalized (spray painted).
Resident suggested more cameras.
Alec discussed the role of the existing guards. Roving guards was discussed. There would still be a guard at the station.
Board agreed to leave the patrol cars parked at their current locations.
Kids are the source of the problem. We are talking about a small group of kids that cause most of the trouble.
Alec suggested that we have Sam Sabra, lead officer for our LAPD division, come do a presentation on ways people can look for trouble situations.
The Board agreed to send out the “stern” letter to all residents again reminding them of their community responsibility, and how there will be no tolerance for disruptive behavior.
We will table the discussion about a neighborhood watch, or any further security until after we complete the commitments we have already made:
- Clubhouse cameras reinstall
- New lighting

New Items
Neighbor asked permission to paint their home. Board approved.
Committee formed to check homes for maintenance and safety violations (i.e. dry brush).
