General
Security:
- Alec discussed guard threats again.
- Alec made a motion to notify all residents that if the guards are threatened, the police will be called. No exceptions. Dick seconded, all approved.
- Frank Miller presented the suggested spike strip. All in attendance liked the idea.
- Will post the plan in the Honker for all residents to be notified, and commit at the next meeting.
Clubhouse Renovation:
- Alec discussed the color choices for the clubhouse. Becky Uzemek made up color charts for people to look at. The boards were looked at by all in attendance. Colors were chosen by a vote of attendees.
- Alec mentioned that the clubhouse should be ready by mid September.
- Alec is documenting the construction with pictures.
- Patti suggested that a checklist be created for future clubhouse renters, so that after the rental, any damage can be indentified.
Street repair:
- Dick mentioned that GPM will be starting the next phase of the slurry coat this week. Everyone needs to be aware of the work, and follow the rules.
- Alec mentioned that the Board will need to spend approximately $40,000 a year for street repairs to keep things current.
Devry:
- Alec mentioned that we have 741 signatures to date
- Alec met with Councilman Smith. Smith is not very supportive of our side. Smith is not running for re-election, so he will not be swayed by potential vote losses. He said that he is the “decision maker”
- Project is in the “EIR” stage. Then it goes to public review. He said that the A1 zoning would be changed. It’s not clear what he (Smith) thinks it should be. He doesn’t seem to be in favor of retail, or tall buildings. Councilman Smith made his position clear, and we need to influence him. He said that he reacts to neighborhood impact, and not signatures. We are trying to setup a community meeting in August so our voice can be heard with Smith. Trammel Crow is relentless. We need to stay on it.
Rule infractions
- Clarence Senger (owner of house and Sedan and Samra) came to discuss the issue with his renter. He said that he has started procedures to evict his current tenant, and the sub-lessees.
- Alec mentioned that the resident on Denise with the storage tent, still has not removed it. He had 30 days from July 14th.
- John to follow up with Evan about the association’s rights to clean up foreclosed or abandoned property.
- Letter with fine to Denise house with storage tent. They did not comply with the agreement to remove.
- 8331 Ducor looks abandoned.
- 8374 Denise – Tree damaging street and gutter. The tree has been removed, however there is still damage to the street. Dick to follow up with the homeowner.
- 8470 Sedan – dead tree that will eventually fall. Vik Shaw to call Fire Marshall.
New Business
- Christy McNeil’s husband mentioned that there was a stranger in the community that seemed as if he was poking around cars to break-in.
- The Board received a letter from renters on Samra who had the dog problem asking the Board for the fine to be reduced. Alec reiterated that we don’t converse with renters, only with the owners. The request was denied.
Meeting adjourned at 8:51 p.m. |
