MINUTES OF THE OAKLAKE ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
September 14, 2009
Board Attendees – John Drago, Stefani Porter and Alec Uzemeck
Stefani reviewed the financial status. Reserves are approximately $30,000 and outstanding dues are approximately $4,000 which is the lowest number for the last six months and given the present economic situation, we are in very good shape.
The Board decided that late charges are to be applied evenly without the requested reductions. Several of the home owners have not paid their fines which are substantial. The management company will be contacted to send out warning letters to the owners regarding possible action in small claims court. Further, we will consult with the management company on next steps to take for collection of these fines.
Marilyn gave her report on the monthly Topanga Police Division meeting. There are community meetings being held for input regarding the selection of a new police chief. Also there is a fundraiser for the Topanga division and Marilyn gave dates for both of these events. Policeman David Cunningham has offered to come to our meeting to brief us of their activities.
John mentioned that the cameras need to be adjusted for viewing the pool area since the new lights have been put onto the pool deck.
Alec said the pool leak repair will include the line leak and the split drains at the bottom of the pool. This last item is a new code requirement and our contractor has submitted a plan to the building department to get a permit to proceed. We will try to delay the work until mid October so that we get as much swimming time as possible.
Alec said that the water quality tests at the southeast corner of Corporate Pointe have come back to the Regional water Quality Control Board. The tests show that there is no unusual radiation at that area as was feared. Alec also reported that the Santa Susana meltdown was examined by a panel of scientists hired by the Department of Energy and they concluded that there was no significant radioactive emissions at that time and did not present any hazard to the surrounding communities.
Heidi brought up the upcoming Halloween party and the Board approved the budget of $750 to support that event.
David has agreed to become our next Board member. This is to be confirmed by appointment at our next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned. |
