MINUTES OF THE OAKLAKE ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
October 13, 2008

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. All board members were present.

Guests: Patti Ginise, Matt  McNeill, Heidi Mulligan, Hank Zhaghi, Frank Miller, Marilyn Williams, John Williams, Noel Roberson and Jana Weber

Treasurer’s report:
Checking account: $17810.38 -- Special assessment account: $1340.58
T-Bill: $49,903.13 --- Reserve: $85,021.66

The following houses are in foreclosure.
Lot 43, lot 48, lot 59 and lot 66

A fine was imposed on the rental on 8441 Samra for parking a boat on the common area and for the dogs being out again without a leash.

Stefani nominated Katie Rothman for a position on the board. All in favor.

Security:
We are going to put in an exit gate. This is so people cannot bypass the guard shack. There will also be an alert in the guard shack that rings when a car goes by. John Williams asked about having knock-away arms. Also when the cameras go up at the clubhouse they will be in some kind of protector so the kids cannot move them.
Kids were dumping trash at the pool parking lot and reportedly doing drugs. We are going to put lights near the parking lot, lake and tennis courts.

Clubhouse Renovation:
There were termites found during the renovation. There wasn’t a return vent in the sink. There was leakage in the bathroom with a broken sewer line. The air conditioner was sucking in sewer gases and it was never working properly. We built a handicap ramp. Redid the clock. Relocated the water line and installed a new copper line to the street. Original contract was $120000 and there is about $15000 left to complete the project.

We burned off all the paint on the clock. The clock is a Brownstreet clock sold from 1906-1920’s. There are 16 Brownstreet clocks in the nation.

Everyone agrees that the railing color is an issue. Should we paint it white or gray? Matt will photo-shop it with both colors.

Corporate Point
We had a booth at the fall Festival and received 340 signatures in 6 hours. We now have 1150 signatures. We said we wanted a full EIR with alternate solutions. The project is on hold.

Halloween Event
There will be a Haunted House in the clubhouse. All other things will take place outside.

Hank Zhaghi wanted a container during his remodeling. The board unanimously approved one to be placed in his driveway.

New Business
We need “NO Loitering” signs.

Clubhouse rental will limit garbage to 2 bags.

Holiday lighting will be allowed to be up from mid October to mid January. To determine if the lighting is holiday oriented will be determined by intention and use.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
